WILDLIFE TOURISM IN EUROPE

Documenting abuse in Wildlife Tourism Attractions across Europe

Photography, press coverage and a short video for FOUR PAWS

Wildlife Tourism in Europe

Whilst Asia is often viewed as the epicenter of the Wildlife Tourism industry, abuse remains rife throughout Europe. It is possible to ride elephants in Germany, see bears on skateboards in Czech Republic, take selfies with tigers in Spain, and visit medieval festivals in France that make bears and wolves perform tricks. This is a journey into the dark heart of Europe’s #ruthlesstourism industry.

Ruthless Tourism

In support of FOUR PAWS’ ‘Ruthless Tourism’ campaign, we documented the abuse of animals for tourism across Europe. We visited animal attractions in Germany, Spain, France and the Czech Republic, witnessing elephants, tigers, wolves and bears performing tricks for tourists and living in cramped, inhumane conditions.

Let’s break the chains of abuse

Only through a collective effort, and by spreading the word to others, can we improve the Wildlife Tourism industry and protect the world’s most vulnerable species.

Take and share the pledge now, help protect animals today.
